The Walker 2080 Mk2 uses the P293 Solid State Ultrasonic Wind Speed & Vane Direction Sensor. This provides excellent precision in a sturdy little package that has no wear and tear on its moving parts. The P249, a standard Walker DIN 144 wind speed and direction indicator, which provides digital displays of relative wind speed and direction, is immediately connected to the sensor. Additionally, 72 LEDs are used to replicate an analog display and show the direction of the wind. This sensor can be used with the Walker P1066 True Wind Interface Unit to enable true wind systems. Wind direction and speed are converted into serial digital data by the sensor. The P249 Indicator shows data for wind direction both in analog and digital formats. NMEA 0183/RS422 instrument interfaces with other ship systems.
